Fruit Butters

Smooth and silky, fruit butters are an old fashioned American invention where very ripe fresh fruit is cooked, pureed and then long-simmered with very little sugar, aromatic spices, and no commercial pectin. They have a deep, complex fruit flavor from being so concentrated.

Serving Suggestions: Creamy fruit butters are the ultimate comfort food on warm toast or scones. They are also used as a butter substitute in baked goods, or a base for fruit sauces. Fruit butters are one of the most versatile and wholesome of preserves.
